Softball Recap: Teutopolis Takes a Loss

If Teutopolis was feeling good fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Shelbyville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wooden Shoes fell 4-1 to the Pinckneyville Panthers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wooden Shoes of the 18-10 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2021.

Jersey Gaddis was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Gaddis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Gaddis wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Hoene, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Teutopolis' loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Pinckneyville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Teutopolis will host Effingham at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinckneyville, they will face off against Marshall at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
