Volleyball Recap: Lawrence Central Starts Season with Win at Home

Lawrence Central took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mooresville Christian Eagles, sneaking past 2-1.

Lawrence Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-19, 15-6.

Karis Barnes paced Lawrence Central's offense, picking up ten kills. Barnes got some help from Evaana Galbreath and her 18 assists. Barnes also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lillian Dailey, racking up three apiece.

Mooresville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Lawrence Central has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Mooresville on the 16th. As for Mooresville Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Christel House on the 16th.
