Basketball Recap: Leo Comes Up Short

Leo was the 66-57 winner over New Haven when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Leo Lions fell 75-65 to the New Haven Bulldogs on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (56), the Lions still had to take the loss.

New Haven's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tarvar Baskerville, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points. Jamal Lawrence was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 16 points and six rebounds.

Leo's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for New Haven, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Leo has already played their next match, a 56-40 victory against East Noble on the 25th. As for New Haven, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-46 defeat against Carroll on the 18th.
