Basketball Recap: Chapel Hill's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 12

Chapel Hill had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They really took it to the East Chapel Hill Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-19 victory. With the Tigers ahead 35-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Chapel Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Scarlett Gilner, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Gilner has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Dezariyah Clark was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

Chapel Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 54 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
