Football Recap: Russellville Takes a Loss

Russellville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats, falling 49-7. The Panthers lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 35-20 score last time.

Russellville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Franklin-Simpson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Russellville will be playing at home against Murray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Franklin-Simpson, they are taking a road trip to square off against Paducah Tilghman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season.
