Russell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Norah Mooney, who posted 16 points. Aubrey Birney was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 15 points and six boards.

Russell's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for Smoky Valley, they moved to 5-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
