Baseball Recap: Bourbon County Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mercer County, Bourbon County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Calvary Christian Cougars. The victory continues a trend for the Colonels in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Carter Flynn made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Flynn was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Flynn wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Norris, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Bourbon County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Calvary Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Bourbon County will challenge Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calvary Christian, they will face off against Holmes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
