Basketball Recap: Lamiya Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Desert Sunrise over Dysart

Desert Sunrise was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Dysart Demons, falling 51-29.

Desert Sunrise lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lamiya Jones, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Noble, who had two points along with four steals and three blocks.

Desert Sunrise's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Dysart, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-9.

Desert Sunrise will be playing in front of their home fans against Cortez at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cortez has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Dysart has already played their next match, a 55-38 win against Yuma on the 13th.
