Baseball Recap: Marquez Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Marquez and Torres had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Gladiators fell just short of the Toros by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Gladiators have struggled against the Toros recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Marquez saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaime Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Marquez now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Torres, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Marquez has already played their next matchup, a 7-1 defeat against Maywood CES on the 27th. As for Torres, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against Sotomayor on the 27th.
