Muenster gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 61-7 victory over the Lake Country Christian Eagles. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won 13 contests in a row dating back to last season.

Muenster's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Casen Carney led the charge by rushing for 114 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 116 yards and one TD while completing 81.8% of his passes. Carney's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 114 rushing yards dating back to last season. Muenster also got a significant boost from Nolan Peel, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 128 yards.

Muenster didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Clayton Cunningham, Jeremiah Franklin, and Jack Lashley picked up one apiece.

Muenster wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 48-44 loss against Holliday on the 5th. As for Lake Country Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 43-0 victory against Legacy Prep Christian Academy on the 5th.
