Softball Recap: Kenai Central Takes a Loss

Kenai Central and Soldotna squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Kenai Central had to settle for second. They came up short against the Stars, falling 18-10. The defeat continues a trend for the Kardinals in their meetings with the Stars: they've now lost seven in a row.

Caitlyn Crapps was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Kailey Stynsberg was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Kenai Central's loss dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Soldotna, their win bumped their record up to 19-5-1.

Kenai Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Soldotna, they will face off against Sitka at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Stars surely won't give up without a fight.
