Baseball Recap: Mansfield Has No Trouble Against Williamson

Mansfield was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Williamson on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past the Warriors 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Alex Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Mansfield is 10-2 when Davis posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Cooper Shaw was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Mansfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive games.

Mansfield's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Williamson, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Mansfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williamson, they will face off against Oswayo Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Green Wave at the right time seeing as the Green Wave are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
