Baseball Recap: Greenbrier Christian Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Greenbrier Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the StoneBridge Cavaliers on Thursday as they made off with a 10-4 victory. Considering the Gators have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Davenport looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Thomas Conrad was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Gerrad Borte also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Greenbrier Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as StoneBridge only posted an OBP of .300.

Greenbrier Christian Academy's record now sits at 20-3. As for StoneBridge, their record is now 2-5.

Looking ahead, Greenbrier Christian Academy will be playing at home against Cox at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gators 3.8, the Falcons 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for StoneBridge, they are taking a road trip to challenge Norfolk Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers are facing the Ambassadors at the right time seeing as the Ambassadors are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
