Volleyball Recap: Urbana University Illineks vs. Calvary Christian Academy Knights
Urbana University was the 2-1 winner over Calvary Christian Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Urbana University Illineks fell just short of the Calvary Christian Academy Knights by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Illineks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Urbana University took a 1-0 lead headed into the second set, but sadly they lost the next two. After all that action, the final score was 23-25, 25-14, 25-12.
Defeat or not, Urbana University got some senior leadership from Heidi Wang and Gabby Mongwa. Wang had 14 digs and eight kills, while Mongwa. had nine digs, four aces, and two blocks. That's the most aces Mongwa has posted since back in October of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Roberts, who had 11 digs.
Urbana University's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-4.
