Blythewood has gone a perfect 3-0 against Sumter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bengals will head out to face off against the Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Blythewood has ten straight victories, Sumter has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Blythewood had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the eight-goal drubbing they dealt Ridge View on Thursday. The Bengals were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Blazers. Considering Blythewood have won eight matchups by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Sumter fell victim to Gray Collegiate Academy and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 5-0 to the War Eagles. While losing is never fun, Sumter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Gray Collegiate Academy are ranked 21st).

Blythewood's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five games. As for Sumter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Everything went Blythewood's way against Sumter when the teams last played back in March, as Blythewood made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
