Football Game Preview: Azle Hornets vs. Ryan Raiders + How To Watch

Azle is 0-3 against Ryan since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Azle is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Fossil Ridge: they outscored them in every quarter. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 42-19 margin over the Panthers on Friday. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hornets had established a 22-point advantage.

Azle's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Chandler Allsup was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

Meanwhile, Ryan was able to grind out a solid victory over Richland on Friday, taking the game 30-21. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won four in a row.

A big part of Ryan's victory came down to the chemistry between Quin Henigan and his top target Raymond Smith. Henigan threw for 204 yards and three TDs while Smith picked up 85 receiving yards and three scores. That's the most passing touchdowns Henigan has posted since back in October of 2024. Rontavian Brown handled things on the ground, rushing for 104 yards.

Azle's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Ryan, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Azle took a serious blow against Ryan in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 62-26. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Hornets were down 55-7.
