Basketball Recap: New Albany Takes a Loss

New Albany was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 49-37 to the Hilliard Bradley Jaguars. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Hilliard Bradley found their leader in sophomore Sophia Lopez, who went 6 of 13 en route to 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Jantonio, who posted nine points and six steals.

New Albany's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Hilliard Bradley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.

New Albany and Hilliard Bradley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. New Albany will take on Grove City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 347 places (378 vs. 31). Similarly, Hilliard Bradley (ranked 196th) will meet Upper Arlington (ranked ninth) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
