Soccer Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Salem

On ThursdayColumbia kept up with Salem until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. The Salem Seminoles' defense stepped up to hand the Columbia Eagles a 3-0 shutout. Considering the Seminoles have won three matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Devonie Gallimore and Rina Paye-Tee scored all three of Salem's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

The victory (which was Salem's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Columbia, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Salem will face off against Monroe Area at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia, they will challenge Miller Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
