Softball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

Wheeler and Hebron squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Wheeler had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wheeler saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cadence Piunti, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Piunti has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Wheeler is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-8. As for Hebron, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.

Wheeler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hebron, they will challenge Andrean at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
