Volleyball Recap: Pender Victorious

Pender won the last time they faced Bancroft-Rosalie and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pendragons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pendragons.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Pender got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 17-25, 25-15, 25-27, 15-12.

Pender found their leader in sophomore Mattilyn Trimble, who had 20 digs and three assists.

Pender was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Bancroft-Rosalie lost, don't look at Leah Beaudette. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and two assists. Beaudette is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Pender's record is now 17-12. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 13-17.

Pender has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against North Bend Central on the 23rd. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Cedar Catholic on the 27th.
