Basketball Game Preview: Roswell Hornets vs. Lassiter Trojans

The Roswell Hornets just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Lassiter Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Roswell earned a 65-55 win over Blessed Trinity. That ten point margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lassiter). They really took it to Chestatee for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-27 victory. With the Trojans ahead 35-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Roswell better keep an eye on Braeden Lucas. He was instrumental in Lassiter's win, going 6 for 8 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Wright, who posted six points and six assists.

Lassiter was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lassiter's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Roswell, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8.

Roswell lost to Lassiter on the road by a decisive 65-51 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Roswell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
