Appalachian came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 victory over the Cleveland Panthers. 57 seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Appalachian's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Cleveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Appalachian will venture away from home to square off against Locust Fork at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cleveland, they will head out to challenge Woodville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
