Softball Recap: Gig Harbor's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

Gig Harbor dropped their record down to 15-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Timberline Blazers, falling 8-1. The game marked the Tides' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Timberline, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs.

For Timberline's part, Nevaeh Haagen made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Haagen has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

In other batting news, Brookelyn Read was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Porsha Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Gig Harbor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Timberline, they will square off against Tumwater at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
