Basketball Recap: Normal Community Takes a Loss

Normal Community has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 62-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peoria Notre Dame Irish on Wednesday. The Ironmen were probably out for revenge after losing 59-38 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Normal Community's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Peoria Notre Dame, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Normal Community and Peoria Notre Dame should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Normal Community will square off against Champaign Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 285 places (45 vs. 330). Similarly, Peoria Notre Dame (ranked 15th) will meet Bloomington (ranked 125th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
