Softball Recap: Woodcrest Christian Comes Up Short

Woodcrest Christian extended their losing streak to 12 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-13 in the process. They came up short against the Ontario Christian Knights, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-3 loss on Tuesday.

Woodcrest Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jael Avila, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

As for Ontario Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

On Ontario Christian's side, Hannah Demoff was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Demoff a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyse Campos, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodcrest Christian will welcome Arrowhead Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Ontario Christian, they will be playing at home against Duarte at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
