Softball Recap: Cypress Lake Comes Up Short

Cypress Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 15-1 to the Immokalee Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 5-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Cypress Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Immokalee, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-14 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress Lake will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Immokalee, they will host Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.14 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
