Basketball Game Preview: Space Coast Vipers vs. Cocoa Tigers

Space Coast hasn't had much luck against Cocoa recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Space Coast Vipers will take on the Cocoa Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Space Coast is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 61-19 win over Cocoa Beach. Winning may never get old, but the Vipers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Cocoa humbled Astronaut with a 64-7 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the War Eagles are ranked 668th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Space Coast is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Cocoa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.

Space Coast might still be hurting after the 71-49 defeat they got from Cocoa in their previous meeting back in January. Can Space Coast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
