Softball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Lincoln Patriots

Roosevelt is 0-3 against Lincoln since April of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Rough Riders will face off against the Patriots. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Roosevelt took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Sturgis Brown. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rough Riders have posted since April 3rd.

Meanwhile, Lincoln entered their tilt with Spearfish on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Patriots have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lincoln's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season.
