Baseball Recap: Port Byron Comes Up Short

Port Byron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Cato-Meridian Blue Devils, falling 12-6. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Alex Laframboise and Pace Jarabek did some serious damage despite the final result: Laframboise went 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Jarabek got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Laframboise has hit this season.

Port Byron's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Coming up, Port Byron will face off against Pulaski at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Cato-Meridian has already played their next contest (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
