It was a good run, but Middlesex unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the King William Cavaliers, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Chargers have suffered since March 29th.

Middlesex saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Courtney Jessie, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Middlesex's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for King William, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Middlesex and King William should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Chargers (ranked 97th) will meet King & Queen Central (ranked 335th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, King William will challenge Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (15 vs. 72).
