Alpena entered their tilt with Negaunee on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Miners get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Alpena's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Negaunee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Alpena has already played their next match, an 11-4 defeat against Bellaire on the 3rd. As for Negaunee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-5 victory against Garden City on the 3rd.
