Baseball Recap: Cheyenne Mountain Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

On Thursday Cheyenne Mountain's undefeated season almost came to an end. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pine Creek Eagles 9-7. This was payback for the Red-Tailed Hawks, who suffered a 7-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Luke Rossow looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colton Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Reickert, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Cheyenne Mountain lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Cheyenne Mountain's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0-1.

Cheyenne Mountain will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Falcon at 10:00 a.m. on April 5. As for Pine Creek, they will take on West Salem in a tournament on Monday.
