Basketball Recap: Winter Haven Christian's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

If Candlelight Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Winter Haven Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Nehemiah Murvin-Rawls. The Winter Haven Christian Warriors strolled past the Candlelight Christian Academy Flames with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 57-40 thanks in part to Murvin-Rawls, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Several Flames players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabriel Coste, who posted six points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Ronald Padilla-Cordero, who put up 11 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Winter Haven Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-67 defeat against Oasis Christian on the 14th. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-46 victory against McLaughlin on the 13th.
