Baseball Game Preview: Amarillo Sandies vs. Lubbock Westerners

For the second straight game, Amarillo will face off against Lubbock. The Sandies will challenge the Westerners at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Amarillo is on a five-game streak of home wins, Lubbock a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.

Last Tuesday, Amarillo made easy work of Lubbock and carried off a 9-1 win. Considering the Sandies have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Lubbock's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Genaro Carrillo, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Amarillo is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lubbock, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7-1.
