Preview: Orr Spartans vs. Canton Little Giants
The Orr Spartans will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Canton Little Giants at 1:00 p.m. on January 15th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Orr came up short against Hazelwood Central and fell 48-36.
Despite their loss, Orr saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nia Crawford, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Crawford hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Neshaun Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Canton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 49-30 bruising from Morton on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Canton has scored all season.
Orr has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.
