Glendale Prep Academy will be up against a hot Camp Verde team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Camp Verde was the clear victor by a 30-2 margin over Tempe Prep on Wednesday. Considering the Cowboys have won six matches by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brayden Sapp made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Sapp was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Haygen Armstrong and Clancy Murdock did most of the damage at the plate: Armstrong scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Murdock got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Murdock a new career-high. Mariah Munoz was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Camp Verde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Glendale Prep Academy and Tonopah Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Glendale Prep Academy came up short against Tonopah Valley on Saturday, falling 20-6.
Like Camp Verde, Glendale Prep Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Raegan Rockey. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and 18 unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Those hits marked the first that Rockey allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Rockey wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rachel Rockey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That hit was Rachel's first of the season.
Glendale Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Camp Verde, their record now sits at 8-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Camp Verde has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Glendale Prep Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Camp Verde's way against Glendale Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Camp Verde made off with a 16-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Camp Verde since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
