Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Indians vs. McKinley Bulldogs

The Northwest Indians will venture away from home to face off against the McKinley Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so McKinley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Northwest blew Canton South out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Canton South got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-1. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Northwest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Smith has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for McKinley's offense. They fell 4-0 to Hoover on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

McKinley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Northwest, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3.
