Soccer Game Preview: Port Charlotte vs. DeSoto County

Port Charlotte hasn't had much luck against DeSoto County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Port Charlotte Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the DeSoto County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Port Charlotte took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Sebring onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. Luis Alexander Duin Garcia was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, DeSoto County got the win against Hardee on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-1.

DeSoto County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four games. As for Port Charlotte, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-3.

Port Charlotte came up short against DeSoto County when the teams last played back in November, falling 7-5. Can Port Charlotte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
