Football Recap: Pinecrest Comes Up Short

Pinecrest came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Richmond Senior Raiders, falling 58-27. The Patriots' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Pinecrest still got an impressive performance from Chris Najm, who rushed for 116 yards and two scores. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Najee Gillis, who threw for 172 yards and a pair of TDs.

Pinecrest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Rollins Rodriguez.

Pinecrest's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Richmond Senior, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Pinecrest will challenge Chambers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond Senior does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
