Football Recap: Pinecrest Comes Up Short

After a string of eight wins, Pinecrest's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a blow against the Richmond Senior Raiders, falling 58-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since September 26, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Pinecrest lost, don't look at Chris Najm. Despite the final result, he rushed for 116 yards and two TDs. Najm's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 116 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Najee Gillis, who threw for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pinecrest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Rollins Rodriguez.

Pinecrest's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Richmond Senior, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Pinecrest will square off against Chambers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond Senior does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
