Benton came tearing into Saturday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Mid-Buchanan Dragons to the tune of 79-41. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cardinals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Dragons are ranked 66th).

Benton's victory bumped their record up to 21-1. As for Mid-Buchanan, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Benton will face off against Savannah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mid-Buchanan, they will take on Plattsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
