Basketball Recap: Mendon Triumphs

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mendon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 51-44 win over the Hillsdale Academy Colts. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

It was another big night for Owen Gorham, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 15 points and eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Talan Buchanan, who went 5 for 6 en route to 10 points and five rebounds.

Mendon's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Hillsdale Academy, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Mendon will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Climax-Scotts at 7:30 p.m. Mendon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. As for Hillsdale Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Waldron at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
