Basketball Game Preview: Belvidere North Blue Thunder vs. Harlem Huskies

The Belvidere North Blue Thunder will challenge the Harlem Huskies at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Belvidere North has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 26.

On Wednesday, Belvidere North ended up a good deal behind Rockford East and lost 73-57. While losing is never fun, the Blue Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the E-Rabs are ranked 213th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Harlem, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past Boylan Catholic 53-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since January 3, 2024.

Belvidere North's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Harlem, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.

Belvidere North didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Harlem in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-44 win. Will Belvidere North repeat their success, or does Harlem have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
