Basketball Recap: Owensboro Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Owensboro hadn't done well against Breckinridge County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Owensboro Red Devils snuck past the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers with a 54-49 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Owensboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shalyn Sprinkles out in front who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Heleina John, who put up 16 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Breckinridge County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Elizabeth Grimes, who earned 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Mitcham, who scored 12 points and six rebounds.
