Basketball Game Preview: Chillicothe Cavaliers vs. Greenup County Musketeers

Having just played yesterday, the Chillicothe Cavaliers will get right back to it and host the Greenup County Musketeers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Chillicothe is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Chillicothe didn't have quite enough to beat Miami Trace and fell 54-52. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Panthers are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Greenup County ended up a good deal behind Notre Dame on Thursday and lost 52-35. The matchup marked the Musketeers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Greenup County's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Chillicothe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Everything went Chillicothe's way against Greenup County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as Chillicothe made off with a 68-47 victory. Does Chillicothe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greenup County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
