Basketball Recap: Rainier Beach Comes Up Short

Rainier Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Bishop Blanchet Bears, falling 57-20. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Bishop Blanchet's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiera Blair, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those 15 points gave Blair a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Campbell, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Rainier Beach's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Bishop Blanchet, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Rainier Beach will be playing in front of their home fans against Cleveland at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. As for Bishop Blanchet, they will venture away from home to challenge Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Blanchet is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.
