Basketball Game Preview: Schaumburg Christian Conquerors vs. Yorkville Christian Mustangs

Two dominant guards in Lucas Bustamante and Jayden Riley are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Schaumburg Christian Conquerors will head out on the road to face off against the Yorkville Christian Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Schaumburg Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Yorkville Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Schaumburg Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Crossroads Christian 58-56.

Yorkville Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-51 heartbreaker at the hands of Perspectives Leadership/Technology.

Schaumburg Christian will need focus on slowing down Riley, one of several Yorkville Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 14 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tray Alford, who earned 13 points.

Schaumburg Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Yorkville Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.
