Springfield piles up the points against Westbrook-Walnut Grove

The Springfield Tigers entered their tilt with the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Springfield breezed by Westbrook-Walnut Grove at home to the tune of 90-54. Springfield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Brayden Sturm, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Potter, who scored ten points.

Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Westbrook-Walnut Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Minnesota Valley Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Minnesota Valley Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Springfield likes a good challenge. As for Westbrook-Walnut Grove, they will head out on the road to square off against Adrian/Ellsworth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (Adrian/Ellsworth is ranked 382nd, while Westbrook-Walnut Grove is ranked 393rd).
