Basketball Recap: Circle Christian Comes Up Short

Circle Christian and The First Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Circle Christian had to settle for second. They were dealt a 94-30 loss at the hands of The First Academy Royals. The Centurions just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

The First Academy was led to victory by Corey Capps and Cory Mcpherson. Capps went 6 of 7 on his way to 16 points and four steals, while Mcpherson went 5 for 7 en route to 14 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Capps a new career-high in steals. Fernando Nieves-Font was another key player, going 5 for 12 en route to 14 points.

Circle Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for The First Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Circle Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. The First Academy has already played their next game (against Faith Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
