Volleyball Recap: Smith Ellie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Campbellsport over University School of Milwaukee

After flying high against Omro on Thursday, Campbellsport came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the University School of Milwaukee Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Smith Ellie, who had eight digs and six kills. Ellie is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 19 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Garvey Ayla, who had eight digs and two aces.

Campbellsport's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for University School of Milwaukee, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Coincidentally, Campbellsport and University School of Milwaukee will both be playing Sheboygan South the next time they take the court. The Cougars will host the Redwings at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
