Soccer Game Preview: Meridian vs. Brandon

Meridian is 0-10 against Brandon since December of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Meridian Wildcats will be playing at home against the Brandon Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Meridian is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Oak Grove, falling 12-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Warriors are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Brandon after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Petal by a score of 2-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of Collin McIntyre, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Brandon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-2.
